"IF YOU HAVE A HEARTBEAT,
YOU HAVE RHYTHM."
- DAN BAILEY
DRUM TALK is a school for students who want to discover and develop their voice on the West African djembe. Learn the Language of the Drum with Dan Bailey who teaches traditional West African polyrhythms, chants and djembe techniques specializing in Baba Olatunji's world renowned drum language.
Using Olatunji's method of vocalizing rhythms, drumming becomes accessible to everyone. By seeing, hearing, saying and playing the rhythms this approach appeals to all learning styles. Get clear tones while protecting your hands and taking care of your drum. Through a series of lessons and proficiency demonstrations progressing from beginner to advanced, DRUM TALK workshops bring each student to a performance level of playing while honoring and preserving ancient rhythms and culture.
"DRUMMING IS THE SIMPELIST THING WE CAN DO TO BRING US TOGETHER."
Dan Bailey leading the Closing Ceremony Celebration at Envision Festival 2015
